You'll know when you die
Guilt. It's a concept of man to keep his neighbors from killing him in the night. But that debate will have to await another day. Today's thought is the concept of being. Is there more to humans than a lizard? Does our large brain and ability to ponder past, present and future make us worthy of immortality or does it simply drive us to madness upon discovering we are just an accident of evolution that will pass unnoticed as we decompose into the star dust from which we came? Are we going to be rescued by a savior as death creeps in or will the notions of redemption be boiled away like the surface of the earth when our sun goes red-giant? Are we here by chance or through great planning? Care for a drink yet? In other news, my coworkers held a luncheon today for my birthday complete with sub sandwiches and cherry and apple pie. Better a week late that never, right?
