9:51 a.m. - 2008-03-19 I'm a clock and chime winder. This particular time piece is circa 1880 and the owners are very protective. However, they threw caution to the devil and asked me to visit their antique once a week and wind the clock and chime and check for accuracy. I will admit this is a fine example of a pendulum in motion. It's big, has a plain face, can be wound rather tight and swings in all the right places. (this is also the description of a girl I dated off and on but never wanted my friends to know about) Two minutes a week I devote to this assignment. Is it satisfying? I do like hearing the clicks as I turn the key. Will it enhance my résumé? What would I list? "Accomplished clock fondler willing to touch your timepiece like no other will". My life is weird and I like it.
