The above laughter is emanating from your favorite Green Eyed Slacker. I have finagled TWO back to back three day weekends. Not bad huh? And that high school football coach said I would never amount to anything. Well fuck him and the horse he rode in on.
Next Monday is San Jacinto Day in Texas. This is an official state holiday celebrating the defeat of Santa Anna at the San Jacinto battle field. I will spend the morning tending the backyard BBQ, cooking up various delicacies including smoked pork chops and hot sausage links. And there will be tubs of ice cold beer for visitors. Long live the memory of Sam Houston!
Then on Friday we take the family on a road trip to San Antonio to celebrate Fiesta which is 10 days of parades and parties in honor of the men who died defending the Alamo. We will visit the sacred shrine and then set upon the town in an attempt to hit as many parties as possible before the weekend is over.
I could never live anywhere else.
