Meet me at the Aligator
We received a text from the daughter last night that said "Sweet Home Alabama" so we knew they had made it that far. I called her this morning and they are on 75 heading south in Flordia. She said they slept in a truck stop parking lot last night. They will probably arrive in Ft. Lauderdale before they can check into the hotel. She had that ring of excitement in her voice.
Tonight we will dine on fresh yellow squash from the garden. Four are just the right size to be basted in butter. I have a ton of green tomatoes. If all goes well they will become home canned salsa along with the cilantro and peppers in the garden. I planted some onions but I do not think they will be big enough when the tomatoes ripen.
I need to call my oyster buddy. We have not met over oysters and beer for weeks. Life is to short not to enjoy it. And I do enjoy eating oysters and drinking beer with friends.
Hell, I would even enjoy it with strangers.
